Student Life

Experiential Education

Verde Valley School educates students for college and for life by encouraging them to become intellectually curious, academically accomplished and creatively expressive. The program fosters intercultural understanding and world citizenship, environmental stewardship, the value of physical labor, and service to humanity with a willing spirit.

Field Expeditions

Students depart from the VVS campus and become immersed in a 10 day experience that incorporates adventure, cultural learning, environmental awareness and service to others.

PROJECT PERIOD

At VVS, we don't end the semester with exams. Students roll up their sleeves and dive deeply into transformative learning.

Project Period supplements Verde Valley students’ regular intellectual lives with experiential learning that is creative, active, and service-based.  The program is an opportunity to deconstruct the ordinary school day as well as the traditional parameters of a classroom.

Service to Others

Service to Others is one of the five pillars of an education at Verde Valley School.  Our students learn the value of this by looking at the world through a variety of lenses and being able to put them selves in the shoes of others.

Sustainability

At VVS we believe that students should incorporate the concept of sustainability into all of their actions.  We want to create that viewpoint so every action and decision is based on preserving the environment and the planet
