Head of School Correspondence

Paul Amadio, Head of School
As we all prepare for our break, I wanted to once again thank our families for their partnership and support over the past four months. There has never been a more important time than now for Verde Valley School to exist and thrive. Your trust in us to provide a safe, caring and rich school experience during this pandemic is deeply satisfying to those of us who give our lives to this community. Thank You!

I cannot let the moment pass without expressing my gratitude to the VVS Staff. They have all extended themselves and worked tirelessly to get us where we are today!  My goal is to let staff have time to rest and replenish over the next few weeks. It has been an incredibly long journey since August. They deserve time off to be with family and to enjoy some quiet time.

However, there may well be times over the next few weeks when we may share information or you may need to contact the school. I wanted to share the communication plan over the break.

  • I will provide an immediate update if there are any potential changes to our reopening plans. As of now, we are looking forward to seeing our students on campus in January.

  • During the week of January 4th, you will receive a school reopening correspondence with pre-COVID travel expectations, and key information in preparation for student return, including shuttle service and/or pick up at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
  • The main office will be closed over break, and reopen with regular hours on         January 11th, 2021. Staff may be present from time to time, but regular operations will not be conducted during this period. Main office phone messages (928-284-2272) and the Administrator on Duty phone (928-301-2267) will be checked a few times each week, and pertinent messages will be forwarded to the appropriate parties. Our outgoing public message will advise that we are closed until January 11th, and that non-emergency messages will be returned when possible.
  • In the event of an emergency, please call me at 469-404-4252. That is my cell.

It is my hope that you all enjoy a relaxing and healthy time with your child. I have shared this often; VVS is the only school where I have worked that students do not want to leave and cannot wait to return. Don’t take it personally. It is just the magic of VVS.

In best service to VVS,

Paul Amadio
