This week we welcome The Sheedys! John is a VVS Spanish and Film teacher and Sandra is an instructor at ASU. Together they founded The Alamos Film Festival in Alamos, Mexico and it ran for 10 amazing years. We are lucky to have them here with us. The Sheedy family is very involved and committed to their life at Verde Valley School.

For the past 3 years, John and Sandra have created and hosted a beloved Dia de los Muertos event on campus. This year we added a parade of the school's campus memorials. We were led by drumming and percussion as we processed on a tour honoring our passed students, alumni and faculty. The celebration parade reached the quad in the center of the campus where there was a beautiful display of ofrendas created by our students. The finale was a program of history, music and dance. We were warmed by outdoor campfires and Mexican hot chocolate! It was a beautiful night to celebrate at VVS.
