VVS Golf Program

This fall the VVS golf team will participate in the Desert Junior Golf Tour. The events are two-day stroke play events for both girls and boys. Players on the tour can earn points toward exemptions to AJGA events (American Junior Golf Association). During weekday afternoons, the team will practice at the beautiful Sedona Golf Resort and the equally gorgeous Oak Creek Country Club. Both courses offer top notch training facilities, including driving ranges and short game practice areas. Under the tutelage of their coach and the local golf professionals, the players will work to improve their games for the upcoming events on the DJGT. The team is excited about the opportunity to play everyday at two of Arizona's most pristine courses.

Meet the Coach:

Bart McMann coaches all three seasons for the VVS golf program. Bart is a single digit handicapper. He learned the game from his father who is a golf teacher at The Harmon Club outside Boston. Bart worked under Jim Dee, P.G.A. at Marshfield Country Club in Massachusetts during high school and college. In high school, he participated in the junior golf circuit in New England and was a member a four-man team that won the 1997 New England Junior Team Championship.

Bart was the golf coach for two years at The Winchendon School in Massachusetts where some of his players went on to play Division 2 and 3 college golf.

He looks forward to leading the already successful VVS golf program, and hopes to give all our players the opportunity to improve their game and enjoy the wonderful game of golf.
