Things you might want to bring....

Here's a list of items you'll want to bring with you, and suggestions of things you might like to have. There's also a pdf file you can download and print here.

The Student Handbook states “For general campus wear, students must be attired in clothing which is modest and respectful.”

 

Clothes for everyday wear:

jeans skirts swim suit socks
slacks dresses sleepwear

walking/running shoes

shirts rainwear sandals underwear
shorts blouses light jacket

sleepwear

 


 

Dress attire (including dress shoes) for dress dinners and other special occasions:

  • Dress or skirt and blouse for girls
  • Slacks, nice shirt, sports coat/suit, and tie for boys




Clothing for moderate winter temperatures:

winter jacket warm socks hat, scarves, gloves and/or mittens
heavy sweaters long underwear boots or sturdy water-resistant shoes
bathrobe warmer sleepwear  

Storage space is limited. Please consider bringing the bulk of colder weather clothing back to school with you after Thanksgiving break. Temperatures in Sedona are mild throughout the fall.



U.S. students must have a valid passport to allow them to participate in international Field Trips and special events.



Suggested list of general items to bring:

sheets to fit a twin bed
photo identification reusable water bottle, 1-Quart Size
blankets and pillow alarm clock            bandanna and hat
towels and washcloths telephone calling card insect repellent
bicycle(s)            desk lamp (no halogen)

sunglasses and sun block

computer or laptop extra contacts or glasses
or bring your prescription which the school nurse will keep on file should you need it
one month's medication and a prescription form that can be kept on file in the nurse's office

toiletries (such as soap, toothbrush,deodorant, etc)

hair dryer, hair brush, etc.  flashlight and batteries
MP3 of iPod, cell phone
   

 

While there are refrigerators and microwaves available for student use in the common rooms of all dorms, no individual refrigerators, hot plates, or microwaves are allowed in a student’s room.




Suggested School Supplies:

Please bring clothing and toiletries you like and need.  There will be opportunities to buy additional supplies and specific items throughout the school year.
  • Day pack                       
  • General school supplies (such as pens, pencils, stapler, etc)    
  • Graphing calculator (Texas Instruments 83 Plus Calculator) Please do not bring TI85 or TI86 calculator

 

  • Please bring the supplies you are used to using and have preferred in the past.  There will be opportunities to buy additional supplies and specific items that teachers want you to have.  There is also a bookstore on campus where you may purchase additional items.
  • If you are an outdoor enthusiast interested in participating in adventure sports (which would include camping, rock climbing, backpacking, kayaking, etc) you should bring your own items and equipment (if you own it) with you. 
  • UPS, FedEx and DHL make daily deliveries to VVS. Feel free to use their services to deliver your heavier belongings.  Please schedule these items to arrive no earlier than the week of August 28th.
  •  Printers are available through the campus' wireless network (in the library and computer lab)
