Loeher, Brunner Lead the Way in Fall Golf
New juniors Denis Loeher (Koln, Germany) and Michael Brunner (Altotting, Germany) are off to a fast start in this year's fall golf program. Playing in the very competitive Arizona Desert Junior Golf Tour, both Denis and Michael have played well and are quickly establishing themselves as strong contenders for possible all region honors this spring.
Denis (left) has notched a second and third place finish in his two events this fall, and Micahel has placed seventh and eighth. Denis is just regaining his form after suffering an injury to his thumb earlier this fall, but is still in third place for the prestigious "Player of the Year" Award on the Desert Junior Tour.
Denis, Michael, Felix Fritzen, and Marc Bergenroth will all play Dec. 15 - 16 in the Wigwam Holiday Classic. A strong finish will move Denis further up the ladder in Player of the Year points.
Michael has really rounded into form of late and played one exceptional round at the Foothills Classic, but poor putting has held him back. Denis is hitting the ball beautifully again and just needs to get a bit of rust off his game. We look for Denis to break into the winner's circle next week.
Felix and Marc will be making their first appearance on the tour this winter - both elected to play other sports for the fall season but will play in several winter events. Both are getting back on form quickly and could post top 5 finishes at Wigwam.
With returners Sebastian Braga, MeMe Bill, and Eric McNutt anchoring the team and strong play from newcomers Denis Loeher, Marc Bergenroth, Aram Arboldeda, and Michael Brunner - VVS looks to have a strong team this spring!
