VVS Library
The Verde Valley School library provides a comfortable and quiet environment featuring eight study carrels, Kellner Schwartz conference table, living area with couches and armchair, a periodical alcove, and a work table for student projects and tutorial sessions. Four computers are available for student use along with a printer and a photocopier. Three large picture windows frame views of the majestic red rock formations.
The VVS library houses a diverse, multi-lingual collection of more than 10,000 volumes, along with 35 multi-lingual magazines and several multi-lingual newspaper subscriptions, and an extensive video, DVD, and music CD collection. We also subscribe to Questia which is an on-line subscription whereby students can access over 60,000 full-text books, over 1,000,000 articles, an entire reference set with a dictionary, encyclopedia, thesaurus, plus a collection of digital tools to organize information. These resources help to support our IB curriculum
An orientation is held at the beginning of the school year to familiarize the students with library policies, resources and methods of research.
The electronic catalog is available to students to access resources in our collection. We assist in accessing outside resources with interlibrary loan requests through Yavapai Library Network.
An evening coffee house and open mic event is held monthly featuring poetry reading, storytelling, live music and stand-up comedy.
