Welcome to VVSaz.org!

Students choose boarding schools for many reasons. For some going away to an independent boarding school is almost automatic - a family tradition. For others, this is a new experience and there are lots of questions.  For many who consider VVS the decision is to attend is tied to a shared belief in the five Mission Principles you see above.  We hope you will read those Mission Principles carefully, and consider the opportunity you have to join a truly global community here at VVS.  The very nature of our student body and faculty, combined with our International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, makes VVS unique among America’s Independent Boarding Schools.

Many students who apply to VVS don’t have much experience with boarding schools. This is why we try to make sure you have the information you need to make a great decision. Please, take your time, ask as many questions as you want, talk to students, faculty, and administrators, (visit our “Day in the Life” section on this web site) and, of course, visit the school and spend some time considering your choice.  Call or email us anytime at all – we want to be part of a great school decision for you and your family!

To get started either call or email us to arrange for an interview – ideally here on campus at VVS, but we can also meet with you in your city or simply arrange for a telephone interview if necessary.  Since we have students at VVS from over 20 nations most years we know visiting isn’t always possible.  On-campus interviews are conducted each Monday and Friday morning when school is in session.  Families should expect to arrive in the early morning (to join our “morning meeting” of all students) and will spend approximately 4 hours on campus.  Please call us at 928.284.2272 or email us at admission@verdevalleyschool.org to arrange for an interview.

The next step is to click on the application link on this page.  The link will take you to our easy, efficient, on-line application.  You may also want to look at https://sss.ets.org/ should you wish to apply for financial assistance.  VVS offers need-sensitive financial assistance to both U.S. and international students.  Each year over 30% of our students receive in excess of $1,000,000 in need-sensitive financial assistance.  Financial aid decisions do not influence admission decisions.  VVS makes financial assistance awards based upon the guidelines of the School and Student Service of Financial Aid (SSS) – a program of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).

Our admission committee seeks capable students who are interested in joining a strong college preparatory school community of adults and students from all over the world.  The committee begins reviewing applications in March of each year (for late August admission) and continues to review applications throughout the year if spaces in the school are available.  Most students join VVS in grades 9 or 10, but many international students apply for admission in grade 11 as well.  We rarely accept a student who applies for senior year admission.  Since we enroll students from many nations we do offer admission for our second term, which generally begins in early January each year.  In most years second term admission is limited by space to only 5-6 new students.

We hope you will complete these three easy steps to begin the process of joining our school!

1.    Complete our inquiry form to receive a VVS view book and curriculum guide.

2.    Call or email us to schedule a campus visit or interview in your home town.

3.    Use our easy on-line application to complete your VVS application for admission.
