Weekends at VVS

Weekend activities at VVS are created by our students and teachers and based on the idea of bringing people together to share their many interests. The weekend teams are comprised of faculty members who not only plan several activities (based on students’ suggestions) but also help supervise the dorms and campus throughout the weekend.

Some of the activities include snow-skiing, rock climbing, horseback riding, movies, hiking, painting, reading, exploring Sedona and the surrounding area, or sometimes, just taking it easy. Many times we have work projects on campus, as well as community service opportunities in the area. Please see the VVS Outdoors Program for more information about outdoor weekend trips. 

Some weekends are reserved for traveling to neighboring cities, like Phoenix or Flagstaff, for concerts, theater, special events, museum exhibits, and shopping.

Other weekends we participate in intramural sports, and our teams may have competitions on Saturdays as well. We take students camping, rock climbing, kayaking, just to name a few of the outdoor adventures offered through VVS Outdoors.
