It is part of our school's mission and culture to have students and faculty from many foreign nations. In the school year 2006-2007, the student body at VVS includes students from 14 states in the U.S., from 4 Native American Nations, and from Bangladesh, Canada, El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Malawi, Mexico, Paraguay, The Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, The Slovac Republic, The United Arab Emirates, and The United Kingdom.

And that's not all. VVS faculty and staff have lived, worked, and studied in many foreign nations, including Germany, Japan, South Korea, Malawi, Russia, Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, Greece, Brazil, Canada, Spain, Taiwan, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Philipines, Slovac Republic, and Bangladesh.

In addition to English, many of our international students speak French, German, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese, Russian, Farsi, modern Greek, and Chichewa (the official language of Malawi).

We have a dedicated Director of the International Students Program, Amy Warren. She assists international students with the necessary documentation, travel visas, and immunizations required by the United States, and safeguards passports when school is in session. Amy also keeps parents up to date with students' progress and activities. We have a full orientation program in September and January to get everyone comfortable at school, assess English language skills, and match students to advisors.

International students are the norm at VVS. They are active participants in the day-to-day activities at school, including weekend trips and field trips throughout the southwest and Mexico. Plus they are always awe-inspired with our location in spectacular Sedona, Arizona.
