Sedona is a special and unique place, with awe-inspiring red rock formations and the beauty of Oak Creek Canyon. Located under the rim of the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 4,500 feet, it is blessed with four mild seasons, plenty of sunshine and clean air. For the students of VVS, it offers beautiful surroundings for year-round activities. Hiking, biking, rock climbing, soccer, horseback riding, tennis, golf, and on weekends camping,  or just having fun going to the movies, grabbing a bite, or attending events at the Sedona Cultural Center.

Since Sedona is nearly in the center of the state, weekend trips at VVS are varied. Flagstaff is a short drive, with a regional mall, Northern Arizona University (NAU), and in the winter, The Snowbowl, for downhill skiing. Just a few hours north is the Grand Canyon to visit, study, and explore. Go to the city for pro and collegiate sporting events; cultural events including ballet, opera and theater; shopping; and special exhibits at the art museums, science museums and the Heard Museum.

And for parents, Sedona is a premier tourist destination, less than 90 minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

To visit VVS, take Interstate 17 north from Phoenix, or south from Flagstaff to Highway 179 (Exit 298). Travel west on Highway 179 towards Sedona for approximately seven miles. Turn left at the second traffic signal in the Village of Oak Creek onto Verde Valley School Road. Go about two and a half miles and you'll see the Verde Valley School sign to your left at a fork onto a dirt road. The center of campus is down the dirt road about three fourths of a mile from the sign. See you soon.
